Ahh...what a mess!
I had the entire birthday planned out and it went horrible. Saturday went well, we stayed home and did a lot of stuff around the house. We worked on concreting around the pool, pulling weeds, and working on the pool itself. It was enjoyable. We rearranged the furniture in the living room after a major cleaning. Fallon enjoyed being outside with us in the afternoon as well. Then I tried cooking dinner. I was making my version of chicken fried steak. My first egg ended up on the floor, the second attempt egg ended up in the drain, and finally the third egg ended being the egg bath for the cube steak. Then I ended up burning myself from the oil in the pan. I wasn't supposed to cook, that's for sure.
Today's David's 38th birthday and I had two ideas for his birthday. The first one was to have a picnic on the Cherohaula Skyway, a place that we love to ride the motorcycles. Then I checked the weather and it was going to be in the 90's so I scrapped that because of it being to hot for Fallon. So I decided that we would go to Lynchburg to the Jack Daniel's distillary and get some bottles that David doesn't have. Well we loaded up and got there to find out that they don't sell the collector's bottles on Sunday. So we went into Lynchburg and ate. Fallon then decided that she wasn't happy so David didn't get a chance to eat in the restaurant. He opted to go to the air conditioned car with her. So I packaged his lunch, ate mine and went out and joined him. She was getting extremely hot and tired so we started home.
Once we got the terrifying exciment started...
I headed to DQ for an ice cream cake for David. I got to the intersection of Paul Huff and Peerless and there was an old man in a pick up truck in the turn right lane. His was followed by a little car and then a white ford F250 then me. The young guy, i'll call him BOB and I'll call the old man, BUD. BOB (young guy) was getting very upset that BUD (old guy at the red light) wasn't pulling out. By law, he doesn't have to. So BOB is honking his horn and then the guy behind me honked and I guess that put BOB over the edge because he got out of his truck and went at BUD. I thought that he was going up to help until he looked back at the line of cars building up and the look of his face was murder. BUD (old guy) got out of his truck and grabbed his iron pipe out of his truck bed to protect himself. BOB took it from him and hit him on the side of the head. I was already on the phone with 911 at this point. BOB continued to get in BUDS face while some other guys came up and broke them up. A woman was out of her car and informed them that she called the police and the guys that arrived and broke the fight up moved thier cars so that BOB could get away before the cops arrived. If I would have had my gun on me and knew that BOB struck BUD (old guy) with the pipe, I would have moved the CR-V up to the bumper of the truck so that he couldn't have backed out to get away from the police coming. I would have wanted something to protect myself with though. In the end, I gave the police my statement, the old man refused the ambulance after they checked him out, and I don't know if they caught BOB. I did finally get the ice cream cake though. WHAT A DAY!

Sleeping
I can't believe how lucky that David and I are. We have created and fell in love with this beautiful baby girl that the Lord gave us. She has been sleeping from 8:30 or 9:30 at night until about 5:00 am without waking. When she wakes up, she's smiling, cooing, and laughing on her changing table. It absolutely makes the night worth getting up for just to see that smile.
Tonight, she fell asleep around 7 and so we tried to wake her up to feed her and change her, but she was just so tired. She did stay awake for a few minutes but we ended up finally giving up and putting her back in bed for the night. She'll probably be up before her normal time frame but that's still okay.
I have heard of mother's having so many problems getting their baby to sleep for more than a couple hours during the night and it makes me feel so proud of being able to get some sleep during the night. I know that I can be a great mother because I am not sleep deprived (most days) and that she's healthy as a mule. :) Any lack of sleep that I suffer now is of my own doing. Just can't skip those addictive Grey's Anatomy episodes.

Playing with the camera
I have a beautiful rose garden and we were out in it when David got the idea to use the rose petals to make photos. So we put them all around and took some pictures of Fallon. She had a lot of fun playing on her changing table with the rose petals and then she loved the feeling of the sheepskin all of her back and body. She's becoming pretty photogenic.

Mother's Day Weekend
David came home on Friday afternoon and started busily doing stuff on the computer. I couldn't know what it was but he was searching and typing and busy. So come later that afternoon, he surprised me with a trip to the Biltmore Estate in Ashville, North Carolina. It is about 3 hours from home and we were going to stay at the inn on the Estate. So we loaded up and I was so excited. The trip to the inn was uneventful and Fallon did wonderful. We got to the inn and the valet opened our doors and unloaded our vehicle. I was impressed. I felt out of place because it's a 4 star hotel. Very fancy but it was an experience for all of us.
We toured the grounds of the estate and saw a turkey, goats, and horses. We saw some amazing Bamboo that was over 80 feet tall on the other side of the river. I couldn't believe that it was actual bamboo. They used bamboo next to the road for privacy and it was so thick that you couldn't see through it at all. We need some of that at the house.
Saturday, we got Fallon ready and had an amazing breakfast at the inn. Then we proceeded around the grounds and headed up to the house. It started out as a beautiful but very hot day. We were going to tour the gardens first but because it was so warm, we decided to tour the house. The house was beautiful on the outside and inside. We saw many rooms and points of interest. The tour was long and the house was very warm but it's an experience that I won't forget. I enjoyed it immensely. Fallon slept on David through the entire tour. After the tour of the house we went down to the gardens to tour it but then it started to rain. We thought that we could just take our umbrella and deal with it but the wind picked up and the rain hit your sideways. So we took cover in the greenhouse and then decided to leave. I feel really bad because as we were heading out, it stopped raining. I should have told David to turn around and go back but I didn't.
This was a Mothers Day that I won't forget and really thoroughly enjoyed. David really finds some great things to do for special events. The photo below is her mother's day breakfast outfit that David dressed her up in. Ain't she cute!!
